About Linda

Linda Formichelli magazine writer

In 1997, my husband Eric and I moved from California to Massachusetts with enough money saved up to last six months. Eric was in college full-time, so it was up to me to support us both. If I didn’t earn enough from freelancing within six months, I’d have to hit the want ads for a 9-to-5 job. Well, here it is 12 years later (as of 2009), and I’m still freelancing!

I’ve written for more than 120 magazines since I started freelancing in 1997, including such top-notch publications as Health, USA Weekend, Family Circle, Fitness, Psychology Today, Parenting, Wired News, Business Start-Ups, Men’s Fitness, and Woman’s Day. I’m co-author of The Renegade Writer: A Totally Unconventional Guide to Freelance Writing Success and The Renegade Writer’s Query Letters That Rock, and the co-founder of the Renegade Writer Blog. You can see a full list of articles I’ve published here.

I’m a full-time freelance writer and support my family with my writing — and I love helping other writers reach their dreams!

Besides writing, I’m active in cat rescue and am the founder of Creative Professionals for Animal Welfare. I live in Concord, New Hampshire with my husband, son, three cats, and occasional exchange student.
